By submitting, you’re stating that the works you’ve submitted are your own, and do not infringe upon the properties of other authors or agencies; that The Hog reserves the right to conservatively edit works for publication (including but not limited to: spelling and typos, page fit and grammar); and that we are simple, poor barnyard hogs without a penny in our trough, and do not currently pay authors a fee for accepted works.

Our inbox is closed to AI writers, and will be until the editorial team is blissfully rotting underground.

Hog believes that AI creation produces disingenuous art that has been taken in large part without permission from other authors across the web. Unregulated generative AI used in a creative setting also has the potential to damage the careers and livelihoods of writers and artists across multiple industries, and we do not support its use for the creation of art and writing.

We do understand that some people use AI-led programmes as part of an accessibility regimen to explore, spellcheck and grammar check their works. We fully support this, but ask that the work you submit hasn’t been subject to suggestions, re-wording or re-working courtesy of AI assistance, and only standard SPaG edit procedures.
